Ken owns and oversees all aspects of his business as much today as when he set out some 30 years ago. Ken's involvment with horses goes right back to his early childhood where he was often seen on the Hunting Field with the Woodland Pythley before moving into Heythrop Country from where the business now operates.
While a number of aspects of Long-Distance haulage has changed with the introduction of tight regulations, the main principles of the business have remained the same. In essence, Ken attributes his successes by staying firm to his core business formula...
During the 1990s K.G.I quickly established as being one of the leading companies shipping horses inbetween the UK and Southern Ireland.
It was during this decade the company quickly expanded due to the increase demand of Race Horse Brood Mares going to Stud, and high quality Sports Horses being traded across the Irish Sea.
K.G.I. built a good reputation for an efficient overnight service without the need to overnight stable horses. A good client base was established, and during the last 30 years this as a business formula has changed very little.
In 2016, and now established for 30 years the business core remains what it was in the early days. A weekly service to Ireland with connections from Ireland to mainland Europe. We estimated that last year alone, our Flagship Lorry spent a combined time of over 6 weeks onboard Ferries crossing the Irish Sea. In order to maximise our coverage and efficiency to the transport of your horse we also work regually with Alan Walters & Eric Gillies Horse Transporters.
